Iza is a master’s student at Southwestern College, undergoing her field training in counseling at Tierra Nueva Counseling Center. Iza worked as a field biologist for nearly a decade and spent a number of years teaching writing and critical thinking skills to college students. She currently works part-time for Reading Quest, a Santa Fe nonprofit that supports kids struggling with reading through evidence-based interventions and one-on-one connection.
Iza strives to nurture the authenticity and autonomy of her clients and students alike.
Iza is a Northern New Mexico native, who is passionate about serving her community. She holds a BA in Natural History and Ecology from Prescott College and an MFA in Fiction from Iowa State University.
