Evan Kottle is a student therapist completing his MA in Counseling at Southwestern College. He holds a BA in Jazz Studies from Sonoma State University in California. Evan worked as a residential counselor at the Plumfield Academy and residential treatment center for young boys in Sebastopol, CA where he learned to transform conflicts into learning opportunities and encourage self-growth and reflection. Believing that our “problems” hold great value towards personal healing, he works to help clients see why specific challenges arise and how to both listen to and learn from them.

Grounded in depth psychology, Evan uses elements of narrative therapy and parts work to help clients explore themselves. He believes that every person has a unique journey to find and develop their inner strengths and come into alignment with themselves. He facilitates sessions to gain familiarity and compassion for the parts of ourselves that might be causing trouble in our lives and find new ways to work with and integrate them as parts of the whole self. Evan is also interested in mythology, fairytales, and folktales as a means of exploring timeless stories of conflict and growth and how they can provide useful templates for working with our personal stories.
