Katie McCabe is an art therapy and counseling student at Southwestern College, conducting her practicum at TNCC. As a nomadic spirit, she dotted her way around the country collecting adventures and experiences from New York City to Los Angeles. After nearly two decades of working as a designer and art director, she consciously shifted away from high-pressure commercial art and towards therapeutic art to help clients decondition, heal, and fully embody their unique and whole selves.

Katie works from a relational-cultural model while incorporating nature-based therapy and psychospirituality. Through this theoretical backing, her values of community, connection, and justice are brought forward holistically. She also plans to continue to learn and gain training in dialectical behavior therapy and radically open dialectical behavior therapy.
